Launch of Initiative to Equip Convoy Motorcycles with Electronic Plate System

Manama: In a bid to enhance traffic safety, an initiative has been launched to equip motorcycles escorting official convoys with an electronic plate system. Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Director General of Traffic, emphasized that public safety is crucial for community stability, with traffic safety being a key component in safeguarding road users.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the newly launched initiative aims to guide drivers on safe driving practices when an official convoy passes, thereby regulating traffic flow and elevating safety standards. The Director General of Traffic stressed the importance of drivers adhering to traffic instructions and positively responding to the guidance provided by the electronic plates. This initiative is part of a broader effort to foster a safe traffic environment through awareness and cooperation among all road users.

Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman also expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of Interior and the University of Bahrain for their collaborative efforts in implementing the initiative. He praised their teamwork in ensuring the initiative's development and execution met the required quality standards to achieve its safety objectives. He further highlighted the significance of ongoing institutional partnerships that support similar initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life and ensuring community safety.
