Istanbul: Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the second Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Transport Ministers Conference, held in Istanbul from February 11 to 12. The conference reviewed cooperation in transport infrastructure and connectivity to support trade and economic integration among member states.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen highlighted Bahrain’s focus on developing transport and logistics as part of economic growth efforts and emphasised the importance of stronger regional links to improve land, maritime, air, and rail connections and facilitate trade, investment, and tourism.
She also participated in the senior officials’ preparatory meeting, which discussed progress in implementing OIC transport decisions and regional connectivity initiatives. On the sidelines, the Undersecretary held bilateral meetings with transport officials to discuss activating existing agreements and expanding cooperation in transport, logistics, and transit services, including digitalisation and road safety.
