Manama: Yusuf bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Labour Minister and Legal Affairs Minister, recently held a meeting with Dr. Rania Al Mashat, the UN Under Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and ESCWA, with the aim of leveraging successful experiences to support the development of labour and related policies.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting explored ways to improve labour market efficiency and strengthen the existing partnership between Bahrain and ESCWA. The Labour Minister highlighted the significance of exchanging expertise to adapt to economic and technological changes, develop skills, and boost the effectiveness of employment-related policies and programmes. These efforts are seen as pivotal in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Rania Al Mashat acknowledged the advancements Bahrain has made in sustainable development and praised the kingdom's ongoing initiatives to improve the labour market system. The discussions underscored the mutual commitment to fostering development and cooperation in alignment with regional and international goals.
