Labour and Social Development Ministry issues directives

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development announced the suspension of in-person attendance at licensed rehabilitation centres, nurseries and training institutes, directing people to switch to online learning.

The move followed the decisions announced by the National Medical Task Force for Combating COVID-19), and which were approved by the Executive Committee.

In a statement today, the ministry said that the precautionary suspension, effective from May 27 (midnight) until June 10 (midnight), does not apply to international exams.

“Based on this decision, a 70% work-from-home policy applies to members of the administrative, educational and technical staff of these institutions”, said the ministry.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development urged full compliance with all decisions issued under these exceptional circumstances, directing all members of the administrative, educational and technical staff to continue to apply all precautionary measures and instructions previously issued by the national team.

These include mainly the disinfection of workplaces, social distancing, and other measures necessary to provide protection and prevent the spread of the pandemic, ensure a healthy work environment, and protect the health and safety of everyone.
