Beirut: Kuwait's second air bridge relief plane arrived at Rafic Hariri Airport in Beirut on Thursday, bringing essential aid for those in need amid ongoing Israeli occupation aggression. The State of Kuwait Charge D'affaires and Minister Plenipotentiary, Abdullah Al-Shaheen, announced that this delivery is part of Kuwait's humanitarian air bridge initiative, established under the directives of the nation's supreme political leadership. According to Kuwait News Agency, the second Kuwaiti plane arrived following Israeli bombings near the airport, which caused shrapnel damage to parts of the terminal facades. The aircraft carried approximately 40 tons of supplies secured by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society. Al-Shaheen stated that the cargo would be handed over to the government Supreme Relief Authority. He also noted that the first shipment from Kuwait was handed over to the Lebanese Ministry of Health and included food, medical supplies, and blankets. Meanwhile, Ahmad Ibrahim, the representative of the Lebane se authority, expressed gratitude to the State of Kuwait, recalling Kuwait's support during past crises such as the Beirut port bombing in 2025 and the 2006 Israeli war on Lebanon. Al-Ibrahim emphasized the urgent need for aid, with approximately 1.5 million people displaced due to the conflict. The Kuwait Red Crescent Society has been actively providing aid to thousands of Lebanese families who have fled their homes due to Israeli attacks. Despite the ongoing aggression, Kuwaiti humanitarian support continues. Local visual media reported on the recent attacks near the airport, which damaged sections of the terminal and tarmac, yet Lebanese authorities have declared that operations at the facility are proceeding as normal.
