Kuwait’s Defense Ministry Highlights Environmental Risks of Landmines on Global Event.

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait's Defense Ministry's anti-Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) department marked the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. The event was organized in collaboration with the Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS) and the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), represented by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), and focused on the effects of landmines on the environment. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Defense stated that the event included a workshop addressing the repercussions of mines on the environment. The workshop highlighted the crucial role played by the Defense Ministry's anti-WMD department in demining operations, evacuating affected individuals, and implementing necessary measures to prevent collateral damage.
