Kuwait city: The Ministry of Interior of the State of Kuwait, represented by the State Security Service, reported that a security operation had successfully prevented a plot aimed at undermining national security and financing terrorist entities. The operation resulted in the arrest of 24 Kuwaiti nationals. Eight other citizens, who are fugitives abroad, were also identified and uncovered.
According to Bahrain News Agency, a statement by the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry indicated that the accused were involved in an organized activity to collect funds under religious pretexts and received them in preparation for transferring them abroad based on external instructions. Investigations revealed the exploitation of donors' trust and good faith, as the funds were diverted from their declared purposes to unlawful entities, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
The statement indicated that the accused used commercial and professional entities as fronts to channel funds and followed precise methods in transferring them by air and land to avoid suspicion. The ministry confirmed that all legal measures have been taken and that the accused have been referred to the relevant authorities, with investigations ongoing to pursue all those involved and safeguard the nation's security and stability.
