Kuwait Public Authority for Industry discusses saving power

The Kuwaiti Public Authority for Industry (PAI) organized on Sunday a dialogue forum to discuss lowering the energy consumption for industrial facilities during peak hours.

Official spokesman for PAI Waleed Al-Mujanni told KUNA that the forum came from the feeling of responsibility of the Authority, especially in light of the current circumstances in which the industrial sector faces a number of challenges during the current electricity crisis.

Al-Mujanni stressed that the forum aimed to develop joint solutions to reduce electricity levels by stopping work in industrial facilities during peak hours, offering several initiatives for factory owners operating on a single shift system to change the time of their shift.

He added that some factory owners actually took the initiative during the forum to stop work during peak times, expressing the Authority’s appreciation for their national initiative.

The forum was attended by Acting Director General of the Authority Mohammad Al-Adwani and several representative
s of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Kuwait Industries Union and owners of industrial institutions.
