Kuwait National Guard Successfully Downs Drone Amid Heightened Security Measures

Kuwait city: Kuwait National Guard spokesperson Brigadier General Dr. Jadaan Fadhel, Director of the Moral Guidance Directorate, affirmed that National Guard forces continue to carry out their duties in protecting and securing vital sites and providing support and assistance to all state entities, foremost among them the Ministries of Defence and Interior and the Kuwait Fire Force.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the joint media briefing of the Government Communication Centre, Fadhel explained that emergency plans were activated to raise the level of combat readiness and enhance security protection at camps and vital sites following the Iranian attack on the State of Kuwait, noting that a "task force" had been formed covering 27 vital locations to support security and military agencies.

The spokesperson revealed that National Guard personnel successfully dealt with and downed a drone at dawn on Saturday without any casualties or material damage, noting that special teams had been formed to support Civil Defence in handling missile fragments and drone debris.

On the preventive side, Fadhel reassured citizens and residents that radiation and environmental readings remain within normal levels, affirming the readiness of the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Centre for Chemical Defence and Radiation Monitoring to track the radiation situation in the airspace and Kuwait's territorial waters through advanced monitoring stations and to provide an early warning system around the clock.

He also noted that the level of readiness had been raised at the Medical Services Directorate and that the field hospital had been prepared to support the Ministry of Health, in addition to activating cooperation protocols to support vital institutions and ensure the continuity of operations at gas facilities, ports, mills, supply centres, and the electricity and water sectors, ensuring the smooth provision of the country's basic needs.

The spokesperson concluded by affirming that the National Guard represents the primary support body within the security system, working in full coordination with all entities to preserve the security and sovereignty of the State of Kuwait under the current circumstances.
