Korean Embassy in Bahrain Hosts 2025 Korean Food Cooking Class Gala Dinner

Manama: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bahrain hosted a Gala dinner for the 2025 Korean Food Cooking Class. The event, which was held from April 14 - 18 and co-hosted by the Embassy and the King Sejong Institute Manama, brought together participants and served as an opportunity for cultural communication, presenting Korean traditional and modern dishes.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this year's Korean Food Cooking Class was led by Jang Heeyoung, a professional chef and CEO of Jangtofu Company. The chef introduced "Jang," a Korean traditional fermented sauce, to 64 participants of diverse backgrounds by making some of Korea's most popular "Jang" dishes together.

Since its opening in 2011, the Embassy has held Korean food events as part of its efforts to develop cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries. This year's edition honored Korean Jang-making culture, celebrating its entry on the list of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage last year.

Dr. HeonSang Koo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bahrain, expressed his pleasure in hosting this year's event and the growing interest of the Bahraini community in Korean food and culture. He commended a group of participants, including academics, chefs, students of the King Sejong Institutes, and diplomatic corps for completing this year's Korean Food Cooking Class and wished for the continuation of deepening mutual understanding between the countries through love of culture.
