King of Jordan and Uzbek President Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan held talks with His Excellency President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during which they discussed means to strengthen relations between Jordan and Uzbekistan, as well as enhance cooperation across various domains.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HM King Abdullah II highlighted this visit marks the beginning of a new chapter in the distinguished relations between Jordan and Uzbekistan, stressing the need to build on promising opportunities identified in the economic and military sectors.

The two leaders also witnessed the exchange of nine agreements, two cooperation protocols, and three memorandums of understanding between the two countries' governments across various domains, including higher education, tourism, visa exemptions, investment, customs, agriculture, air services, religious affairs, extradition, and standards and metrology.

HM King Abdullah II bestowed on HE President Mirziyoyev the Order of the Bejewelled Grand Cordon of Al Nahda (Order of the Renaissance), granted to heads of state, in recognition of his efforts and in affirmation of the distinguished relations between the two countries and their peoples.
