King Hamad Global Centre Concludes International Webinar Series with Focus on Education and Tolerance

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance, emphasized the centre's dedication to enhancing international collaborations to utilize education as a catalyst for peace and mutual understanding.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these initiatives aim to reinforce Bahrain's role as a global hub for dialogue and cultural exchange, aligning with the Royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This statement was made as the centre wrapped up its international webinar series titled "From Hate to Hope: Transformative Approaches to Addressing Hate Speech through Education," organized in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Arigatou International, and the University for Peace. Launched in June 2025, the series featured three focused dialogue sessions.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla thanked the international partners for their collaboration in organizing the events, which brought together educators, policymakers, youth leaders, and civil society representatives globally. He highlighted the collective understanding of education's crucial role in fostering awareness among children and youth, promoting values of dialogue and respect, and combating hate speech to achieve peace and prosperity.

The centre was actively involved in the series by delivering opening remarks, moderating a session on educational curricula and ethics-based learning, and discussing the dangers of online hate speech, particularly its effects on children and youth. In the concluding session, the centre proposed effective strategies for combating digital hate speech and reiterated its pledge to develop innovative programs aimed at youth and children.

The series received significant praise for facilitating dialogue, producing actionable recommendations to counter hate speech, and spotlighting education's transformative power in advancing tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity.
