KHGC Chairman Joins International Forum for Peace and Trust in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC), reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to promoting coexistence, mutual understanding, and civilisational dialogue as ethical values and strategic foundations for peace, stability, and sustainable development. This commitment is upheld under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed expressed his appreciation to the Republic of Turkmenistan, led by President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, for organising the high-level event in Ashgabat. The International Forum for Peace and Trust saw the participation of heads of state, government representatives, international organisations, and religious and intellectual figures. The forum coincided with the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s declaration of permanent neutrality, underscoring the nation’s dedication to fostering a global culture rooted in dialogue, trust, and cooperation.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed highlighted Bahrain’s participation in the forum as being guided by a royal vision that stresses dialogue, understanding, and coexistence rooted in human dignity and respect for religious and cultural diversity. These principles are viewed as strategic means for strengthening peace, mutual trust, and sustainable development at local, regional, and international levels.

He also noted the Centre’s dedication to institutionalising coexistence through an integrated framework based on key pillars. These include responsible political governance that rejects the misuse of religion and politics, just legislation, human-rights guarantees, value-based education systems, enhanced cultural and historical awareness, responsible media that counters disinformation and hate speech, and the effective use of science and technology to support peace, trust, and stability.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed reaffirmed Bahrain’s ongoing commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise with international partners. This commitment aims to advance the principles of coexistence, understanding, and mutual respect, supporting legislative, educational, media, and diplomatic efforts towards a future marked by peace, trust, stability, and sustainable prosperity for all.
