Justice Ministry Undersecretary Chairs Annual GCC Meeting in Riyadh

Riyadh: Dana Khamis Al-Zayani, Undersecretary for Planning, Family Reconciliation and Alimony at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, chaired the annual meeting of GCC justice ministry undersecretaries in Riyadh as part of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for 2026.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain's delegation included Dr. Mohamed Majbel, Assistant Undersecretary for State Issues and International Cooperation at the ministry. The meeting focused on key initiatives to advance judicial and legal cooperation across GCC member states. Among these initiatives was Bahrain's proposal for a digital platform to facilitate the exchange of judicial notifications and legal assistance requests.

Further discussions included the development of a unified GCC framework to combat cybercrime. The meeting also considered recommendations from judicial and legal training bodies in the region, aiming to enhance collaboration and efficiency in addressing legal challenges faced by the member states.
