Justice Ministry Launches Remote Visual Notarisation Service in Bahrain

Manama: Dana Khamees Al Zayani, Undersecretary for Courts, Family Reconciliation and Alimony at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, announced the launch of the remote visual notarisation service. This service, provided by private notaries within the Kingdom of Bahrain, has been introduced in coordination with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the service is accessible at https://notary.moj.gov.bh and will be gradually implemented, initially covering specific types of transactions. Participation in the service remains optional. Al Zayani advised those interested to register for the Government Notifications System (NotifyMe) via bahrain.bh and update their contact details, as registered contact information will be required for service access.

Al Zayani highlighted the ministry's commitment to digital transformation, providing more flexible options for businesses and individuals while streamlining notarisation and authentication processes. The new service eliminates the need for in-person attendance and paper-based transactions, utilizing Blockchain technology to secure and digitally store notarised documents, ensuring their authenticity and preventing modifications. It also enables electronic signatures via OTP verification, private notary transaction inquiries, and transaction cancellation.

This initiative is set to enhance private sector involvement in notarisation, with the ministry overseeing and regulating licensed private notaries.
