Manama: The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments developed its marital status verification service as part of government efforts to improve the quality of services and re-engineer procedures. The service enables relevant authorities and parties to electronically verify whether a marital relationship remains valid.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the developed service reduces processing time from one working day to an instant service and reduces the service-level agreement by 25%. It also provides a fully digital service and standardises service information published across websites, facilitating access.
Maryam Ali Al Abdulaziz, Chief of Systems Implementation and Information Technology Training at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, noted that the service enables relevant parties to instantly check marital status by scanning a QR code, without the need to attend in person, contributing to an improved user experience and faster access to the service.
The developed service aims to simplify marital status verification procedures, accelerate access to relevant information, and save beneficiaries time and effort through an instant and reliable electronic verification mechanism.
It also enhances the accuracy and speed of information exchange and simplifies procedures for relevant authorities and parties, in line with digital transformation efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of government services and the beneficiary experience.
As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, including 800 services that have undergone development and re-engineering across various government sectors.
These efforts were based on proposals and feedback received on government services through the national Tawasul system, investor feedback and mystery shopper reports assessing government services. The efforts also included the introduction of guidelines and service-level agreements, contributing to more efficient procedures, improved service quality and beneficiary experience, while supporting the government's digital transformation.
