Manama: Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, met with members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Bar Society, headed by lawyer Salah Ahmed Al Midfa. The meeting focused on the ministry's remote court project, a key component of its digital transformation initiatives designed to enhance the legal experience for both lawyers and litigants by utilizing modern technology to streamline litigation procedures.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Wafa Ibrahim Al Hajeri, Director of the Information Technology Directorate at the Ministry, delivered a presentation on the project. She explained that the service allows parties in civil and Sharia cases to choose between remote or in-person attendance based on their preference. Al Hajeri detailed the workflow of the system, covering all stages of session management under direct judicial supervision. She highlighted that the project was developed in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council to ensure that all legal guarantees are maintained within the electronic litigation framework.
Al Hajeri further mentioned that the project's implementation is ongoing, with plans to conduct introductory and training workshops for lawyers prior to the phased rollout. Al Midfa expressed the Bahrain Bar Society's support for digital justice initiatives that facilitate court procedures and offer lawyers greater flexibility in managing their professional duties and court appearances. He praised the ministry's efforts and stressed the importance of upholding all legal rights and procedural guarantees in remote litigation to protect the interests of all parties involved.
