Justice Ministry Enhances Reconsideration of Decisions Service for Minors Sector

Manama: As part of ongoing government efforts to improve and re-engineer the quality of public services, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf enhanced its Reconsideration of Decisions service within the Minors Sector, enabling persons under guardianship and those responsible for their affairs to submit requests for reconsideration of decisions issued on their applications for review and redetermination in accordance with the approved procedures. Under the enhanced service, the processing time has been reduced from 48 working days to 14 working days. The number of required documents has been reduced to 1 supporting document, and the number of approvals required to obtain the service has been reduced by 25%. Information about the service has also been unified across all official channels to improve accessibility and provide greater clarity on procedures and requirements.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Judge Isa Sami Al Mannai, Undersecretary for Justice and Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, stated that the enhancement of services provided to persons under guardianship forms part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to simplify procedures, improve service efficiency, and provide beneficiaries with more accessible and flexible service channels, contributing to an improved user experience and faster completion of transactions. He explained that the development included reorganising the service workflow by reviewing applications through the service centre, reducing the required documents to a single supporting document, and making greater use of the approved electronic channels for submitting applications, helping simplify procedures and accelerate the review and determination of requests more efficiently.

The enhancement is part of the ministry's ongoing plan to modernise services provided by the Minors Sector, improve procedural efficiency, and advance the digital transformation of government services, in line with the government's efforts to deliver faster, more flexible, and more efficient services for beneficiaries. As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.

These improvements have been shaped by proposals and feedback received regarding government services through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, and secret shopper reports evaluating government services, as well as the launch of guidance manuals and service level agreements. These efforts contribute to improving procedural efficiency, enhancing service quality, strengthening beneficiary experience, and supporting the government's digital transformation journey.
