Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and following the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to inaugurate, renovate, and restore 40 mosques affiliated with the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates across all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, announced that the ministry has begun coordinating with the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates and the Urban Planning and Development Authority to commence and complete these projects.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister commended the success of the plan initiated by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister during the month of Ramadhan over the past three years, which launched the development of mosques and prayer halls. This initiative resulted in the inauguration, renovation, and restoration of 82 places of worship affiliated with the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates across all governorates of the Kingdom.
The minister highlighted HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's commitment to developing mosques and prayer halls, emphasizing the government's dedication to maintaining and expanding places of worship across Bahrain for citizens and residents.
In implementation of the directive of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the minister noted that work is underway to complete the procedures for inaugurating several mosques, including Mohammed bin Mohammed Ahmadi Mosque and Abdullah Nass Grand Mosque in East Hidd, Al Watya Mosque in Saar, and several others in various locations.
The plan also includes laying the foundation stones for new mosques such as Lulwa bint Abdulaziz Al Ali Al Bassam Mosque in North Riffa and Yusuf Ahmed Ali Kanoo Mosque in Salman City. Additionally, the renovation and restoration procedures have commenced for numerous mosques including Manar Al Huda Grand Mosque in Al Nasfa and Al Awadhi Grand Mosque in Bilad Al Qadeem, among others.
