Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in implementation of the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawada, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, has announced the commencement of coordination with the Sunni and Jafari Endowments Directorates and relevant authorities to initiate and complete mosque development projects across Bahrain. This initiative involves the inauguration, restoration, and rehabilitation of 60 mosques managed by the Sunni and Jafari Endowments as part of the national mosque development plan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, over the past four years, 122 mosques have been inaugurated, restored, or rehabilitated under the same plan. The mosques scheduled for imminent inauguration include Aisha Al Mezeal Mosque in Sand, Abu Anbara Cemetery Mosque in Old Bahrain, Aisha Amer Al Kooheji Mosque in Al Janabeya, and Imam Al Redha Mosque in Salman City, among others.
Additionally, the foundations for new mosques like Al Khater Mosque in Jary Al Shaikh and Kumail bin Ziyad Mosque in East Sitra City will be laid as part of the development projects. Restoration and rehabilitation efforts are currently underway for numerous mosques such as Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Ghatam Mosque in Riffa and Isa Town Mosque in Isa Town, with many more listed for similar enhancements across the Kingdom.
