Jordan’s Air Defence Systems Intercept Iranian Ballistic Missiles

Manama: An official military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army reported that national air defence systems successfully intercepted and neutralised three ballistic missiles that entered Jordanian airspace from Iranian territory early Wednesday morning.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the source emphasized that Jordanian airspace is a vital component of the Kingdom's sovereignty. The interception operation was conducted in line with established operational and defensive protocols, ensuring the protection of the Kingdom's sovereignty, security, and citizens. The incident resulted in no casualties or material damage, as reported by the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The source further detailed that Royal Engineering Corps teams managed the fallen debris at multiple locations, following approved technical and security procedures, and took all necessary precautions to secure the sites and ensure public safety.

The military source reiterated that the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army firmly oppose any infringement on the Kingdom's sovereignty or any unauthorized use of its airspace that could jeopardize its security and stability. The Armed Forces remain vigilant in monitoring Jordanian airspace and tracking developments while maintaining the highest level of operational readiness.

The source stressed that the Armed Forces will respond decisively to any breach of Jordanian airspace or threat to the Kingdom, adhering to established rules of engagement, and will take all necessary measures to safeguard Jordan's sovereignty and uphold its national security without hesitation.
