Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan participated in a meeting via video conference with leaders from the European Union and countries in the region to discuss the escalation in the Middle East.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty King Abdullah II expressed appreciation for the support provided by EU countries to Jordan and Arab states, and their solidarity in response to the escalation, emphasising the need for continued cooperation and coordination to protect civilians and achieve comprehensive and sustainable calm.
His Majesty King Abdullah II warned of the danger of attempts to expand the conflict by targeting a number of secure and stable Arab countries, stressing that diplomacy and dialogue are the way to end the dangerous escalation in the region.
His Majesty King Abdullah II reaffirmed that Jordan will continue to take all necessary measures to protect its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens, commending the Iraqi government's efforts to de-escalate and contain tensions in the region.
His Majesty King Abdullah II also pointed to developments in Lebanon and the Israeli occupation's attacks on Lebanese territory, affirming Jordan's continued support for the Lebanese people in their efforts to maintain their security, stability, and sovereignty.
