Jordanian-Iraqi Finance and Business Forum kicks off

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Shamali, deputizing for Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, on Tuesday inaugurated the Jordanian-Iraqi Finance and Business Forum. The forum, which is organized by the Iraqi Business Council in Amman, represents a significant economic event that seeks to foster the trade, industrial, and investment relations between Jordan and Iraq, and bring them into a new level of cooperation and mutual benefits that serve the interests of the two countries. Governmental officials, businessmen, investors, and companies from both nations are participating in the 2-day forum under the theme “Building Bridges of Shared Prosperity”. The participants will engage in dialogue sessions that revolve around investing in the financial and banking sector, available opportunities, challenges, experiences, and success stories, as well as regulations and laws governing investment in both Iraq and Jordan. In addition, they will discuss investment prospects in the industrial sector, energy, mining, real estate development projects, transportation, services, communications, and information technology. On the sidelines of the gathering, bilateral meetings will be held between the participants, and a company exhibition will showcase products, services, and the latest development to a specialized audience. This will bolster bilateral commercial ties and expand the range of traded goods between Jordan and Iraq by opening up new distribution channels for firms.
