Amman: The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army reported that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was subjected to a missile attack originating from Iranian territory in recent hours.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the spokesperson stated that Jordanian air defence systems detected and intercepted 13 ballistic missiles that breached the Kingdom's airspace. Out of these, 10 missiles were successfully intercepted and destroyed, while three landed in remote areas far from populated centres. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported as a result of the incident.
The spokesperson mentioned that the attack was managed following established operational procedures. Specialised teams have been deployed to secure the impact sites and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the citizens.
The Armed Forces have urged citizens to avoid approaching, touching, or moving any unidentified objects or debris, advising them to report such items immediately to the relevant authorities. Additionally, the Armed Forces appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and to rely solely on statements issued through official sources.
The Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army reaffirmed that its units and formations are continuously performing their duties, with surveillance and air defence systems on high alert to respond to any threats, ensuring the Kingdom's security, the safety of its citizens, and the sovereignty of its airspace.
