Jordan Industry and the Palestinian Federation of Industries discuss industrial integration between the two countries


Bethlehem Together – The President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Engineer Fathi Al-Jaghbir, and the President of the Federation of Palestinian Industries, Nassar Nassar, discussed, during a meeting held in the Jordan Chamber of Industry building, ways to advance integration and economic cooperation between the two countries, based on the fraternal historical relationship and the unity of the common destiny.

During the meeting, the two parties agreed on the necessity of serious and real work to consolidate the single market principle in a way that contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Jordanian and Palestinian products in both markets. In order to achieve this common goal, by providing all logistical facilities, simplifying procedures, and removing all obstacles that prevent the achievement of this great strategic goal, they stressed the importance of easy movement of goods directly in both directions (door to door) and not according to the currently followed mechanism of downloading
and loading goods. From one truck to another at the crossing, which obstructs its flow and raises the cost of products to the final consumer in both countries.

The two parties called for the need to work to raise the quality of products manufactured in the two countries in a way that contributes to enhancing their competitiveness against imported products in the Jordanian and Palestinian markets, in addition to jointly targeting regional and global markets.

The two sides also stressed the importance of implementing mutual recognition between the standards and metrology institutions in Jordan and Palestine, which contributes to the easy flow of goods in both directions without obstruction or delay.

To achieve this common vision, the two parties agreed to hold a close and expanded meeting that includes members of the boards of directors of the two institutions and representatives of the various industrial sectors to discuss all the details and develop a road map for achieving economic integration, which ensu
res the replacement of industrial products in place of many imported products on both sides, and in a way that contributes to expanding the industrial production base. Opening new production projects will provide tens of thousands of job opportunities and contribute to raising the economic level of the two brotherly peoples.
