Jaafari Endowments Lays Foundation for Imam Ali and Sayeda Zainab Mosques in Salman City.

Manama: Yusuf bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council, commended the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to supporting houses of worship, and the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This came during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Imam Ali Grand Mosque and the Sayeda Zainab Mosque in Salman City.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh underscored the ongoing support from the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, chaired by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, under the directives of Minister Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda. He also highlighted the fruitful cooperation with related government bodies and the local community.

Al Saleh emphasised the administration’s commitment to developing houses of worship across the Kingdom, particularly in new housing projects, following a structured plan that add
resses the needs of these expanding communities. The Imam Ali Grand Mosque will be a two-story structure with a capacity of 1,444 male worshippers and 1,004 female worshippers, featuring commercial spaces to support the mosque’s upkeep. The mosque will cover an area of 6,673.74 square metres on a total plot size of 9,253.58 square metres, with an estimated budget of BHD 1,940,000.

Similarly, the Sayeda Zainab Mosque will accommodate 695 male worshippers and 336 female worshippers, with amenities and commercial spaces for mosque funding. It will occupy a 1,600.9 square metre area on a total plot of 2,052 square metres, with an estimated budget of BHD 370,000.
