Jaafari Endowments Directorate to Hold Annual Ashoora Coordination Meeting in Bahrain

Manama: The Jaafari Endowments Directorate has announced that it will organise its annual meeting for Hussaini Maatams and procession supervisors across the governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This significant gathering is set to take place on Monday evening at New Season Hall, Adhari Park, with participation from representatives of official bodies, Hussaini Maatams, and stakeholders involved in the preparations for the Muharram season for the year 1447 AH (2025).

According to Bahrain News Agency, Yousif bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments, expressed his appreciation for the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in ensuring the care of religious observances, particularly during Ashura. He acknowledged the ongoing support from state institutions that facilitate this annual commemoration.

Al Saleh also commended the efforts of the government, under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the support of the Ministry of Interior, led by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He highlighted the role of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), chaired by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the oversight role of Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, in supporting the needs of places of worship and religious observances. The efforts of all ministries and agencies involved in the successful observance of Ashoora were also noted.

The Directorate has extended invitations to all relevant parties, reaffirming its commitment to direct engagement with Maatam officials to discuss their aspirations and requirements. It aims to share the Directorate's plans and projects and enhance communication, particularly during the month of Muharram, to ensure the success of Ashoora in partnership with all stakeholders.
