Islamic Endowments Affairs Council Unveils Electronic Rent Payment Service for Endowment Properties

Manama: As part of ongoing governmental initiatives to enhance service quality and streamline public services, the General Directorate of the Islamic Endowments Affairs Council has launched a new electronic rent payment service for endowment properties. This development allows tenants to pay their rents through the BenefitPay application, simplifying payment procedures and supporting the broader digital transformation agenda by offering a more convenient and flexible experience for beneficiaries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the enhanced service has transitioned to a fully electronic format, significantly reducing processing time from one working day to an immediate, automated process. The number of steps needed to access the service has been minimized to a maximum of four, and the required documentation has been cut by 50%, thereby improving service accessibility and accelerating delivery. Ahmed Khalil Khairi, Director General of the General Directorate of the Islamic Endowments Affairs Council, emphasized that the service development is part of broader efforts to simplify procedures, enhance service efficiency, and utilize digital solutions to improve user experience and expedite transactions.

The introduction of the electronic payment system via the BenefitPay application provides a secure and convenient digital payment channel, saving beneficiaries time and effort. This initiative is a component of the council's ongoing strategy to modernize services, improve procedural efficiency, and promote digital transformation, aligning with government objectives to deliver faster, more adaptable, and efficient services.

As part of the government's continuous efforts to develop and re-engineer services, over 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 undergoing development and re-engineering across various sectors. These initiatives are informed by feedback received through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, and secret-shopper reports assessing government services, as well as the introduction of guidance manuals and service-level agreements. These comprehensive efforts are aimed at improving procedural efficiency, enhancing service quality, and bolstering the beneficiary experience, further supporting the government's digital transformation journey.
