Dubai: Under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Special Representative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, the General Secretariat of the Award participated in the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. The Isa Award for Service to Humanity's participation emphasized the need for an active presence in international humanitarian forums to boost communication and cooperation with global organizations, thereby reinforcing Bahrain's role in addressing global humanitarian issues.
This year's participation marked the Isa Award for Service to Humanity's fifth consecutive appearance at the exhibition, featuring its largest pavilion yet, underscoring its continued commitment to maintaining a robust presence. The involvement aligned with the Award's mission to honor significant humanitarian efforts and facilitated new opportunities for engagement with key regional and international charitable organizations.
Ali Abdullah Khalifa, Secretary-General of the Isa Award, remarked that since its inception in 2004, the DIHAD exhibition has evolved into a pivotal platform for exchanging ideas and enhancing humanitarian relief and development strategies. He noted that it now functions as a global forum for fostering real change by promoting collaboration and forging essential partnerships among humanitarian leaders and professionals.
This year's edition attracted significant international participation, with over 130 speakers and nearly 170 sessions and workshops. It addressed crucial topics such as humanitarian diplomacy, human security, climate change, migration, and global health issues. The program also highlighted the importance of empowering youth and women and promoting strategic partnerships to confront current humanitarian challenges.
The exhibition included a wide array of participants from various sectors, showcasing the latest technological innovations and tailored solutions to support fragile and affected communities. It also provided extensive opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange through a pre-arranged meeting system, enhancing the professionalism and effectiveness of the participation.
