Iraq and Kuwait Stress the Importance of Completing the Solution of Outstanding Issues, Especially Those Related to Borders

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah stressed today, Wednesday, the importance of completing the solution to outstanding issues, especially those related to borders during the coming period.

A statements by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Hussein met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of his participation in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, which will is being held in Baku from 5-6 July 2023, and during the meeting they discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, and the importance of completing resolving outstanding issues, especially those related to borders, during the coming period.

According to the statement, the two sides touched on the incident of burning the Holy Qur’an in Sweden, and stressed the need to reach international legislation that prohibits insulting all religions in the world and the need to call for a meeting of ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries.

The two sides also discussed the issue of Iraqi immigrants to the European Union countries and the need to reduce this phenomenon, since Iraq currently enjoys factors that would be a reason to end this phenomenon.
