Iran: The Israeli attack on Lebanon will mean a “war of annihilation”

Baghdad: Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations said that Tehran views threats to carry out a large-scale Israeli military operation in Lebanon as a clear attempt at psychological pressure.

The Mission indicated in a statement published yesterday, Friday, on the social networking site

The statement read: ‘Although Iran views the Zionist regime’s propaganda about the attack on Lebanon as a means of psychological warfare, if [Israel] launches a large-scale military aggression against Lebanon, this will cause the outbreak of a war of extermination.’

The Iranian statement did not rule out the possibility of “full involvement of the resistance fronts in the fight against Israel, if the aggression against Lebanon takes place.”

In mid-June, the Israeli army approved an operational plan for an attack in Lebanon.

The Israeli authorities hope that, at the conclusion of the operation against the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, they will be able to strike at the same time a strong strike agains
t Hezbollah forces in Lebanon.

Yesterday, Friday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant confirmed, during his visit to the northern border with Lebanon, that the situation in the north is not easy.

The Minister said on Thursday, during a discussion in the Israeli Cabinet for Political and Security Affairs, that he informed the Americans that Israel is not interested in a war on the northern front and that a settlement that would remove Hezbollah from the border is considered acceptable.
