Manama: Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), inaugurated the second cohort of the Executive Programme in Government Communication, alongside Ahmed Khaled Al Araifi, CEO of the National Communication Centre (NCC). Dr. Shaikha Rana emphasized the strategic importance of government communication in supporting public policies, enhancing transparency, and showcasing national achievements. She highlighted the necessity for continuous investment in developing national leadership and competencies in the communications sector, equipping them with modern skills and tools to efficiently and professionally convey government messages. This initiative aims to foster a unified and impactful government narrative reflecting the Kingdom's achievements and development aspirations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa noted that the partnership with the NCC demonstrates a commitment to an advanced approach in preparing government communication professionals. This involves anticipating future media trends and utilizing innovation tools and artificial intelligence to enhance communication practices. Such measures aim to improve government entities' ability to produce impactful content and assess the media impact of their initiatives.
Al Araifi stressed that investing in national competencies in government communication enhances institutions' ability to build a proper image and convey clear, impactful messages that align with national priorities. He noted that government communication serves as a key enabler of development pathways and reinforces the Kingdom's positive image globally. The cooperation with the IPA reflects robust coordination, following the success of the first cohort launched last November, which delivered qualitative impacts through its comprehensive training content.
Al Araifi further explained that the programme, under the Shared Communication Services Sector at the Centre, seeks to elevate government performance in communications by building staff capabilities and developing skills through innovation and modern technologies. It covers media crisis management, digital government communication best practices, effective digital reputation management, international media engagement, and Bahrain's successful international communication experiences, all contributing to excellence within the unified government framework.
He added that the Executive Programme in Government Communication targets communication sector employees at director, head of department, group leader, and equivalent levels. It aims to develop leadership skills in communication policy-making, strategic planning, and enhancing capabilities in managing government communication in line with best modern practices.
