International Dispute Resolution Council Secretary General Speaks at UNCITRAL’s 60th Anniversary Conference

Manama: Professor Marike Patrani Paulsson, Secretary General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, addressed attendees at the International Conference Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of UNCITRAL. The event was jointly hosted by the Supreme Court of India, India's Ministry of External Affairs, and UNCITRAL, and took place from July 24 to 26, 2026, at the Supreme Court premises in New Delhi.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the session was chaired by Justice Manmohan and co-chaired by Justice Joymalya Bagchi, both esteemed judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of India. Professor Paulsson was part of a distinguished panel of speakers, which included Victor Dawes SC from the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre; Audley Sheppard, Chair of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA); Dr. Roberto Dalledone Machado Filho, Secretary General of the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil; The Right Hon Lord Leggatt of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom; and Justice Pasquale D'Ascola, First President of the Supreme Court of Cassation of Italy.

Justice Dato' Mary Lim Thiam Suan, a judge at the Bahrain International Commercial Court, also participated in a panel at the conference. The Council's involvement in this conference highlights the Kingdom of Bahrain's ongoing commitment to international initiatives aimed at strengthening and modernizing the global arbitration framework. It also emphasizes Bahrain's increasing influence in shaping the future of international commercial arbitration.
