Manama: The Ministry of Interior won the Internet of Things Innovation Award for its "First Responder" project during the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025. The award was presented by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, to Major General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Deputy Chief of Public Security commended the support received by the National Ambulance Centre from the Minister of Interior, as well as the continuous follow-up by the Chief of Public Security, which contributes to the development of services provided to citizens and residents.
He expressed pride in receiving the award, which supports the ministry's efforts to develop access mechanisms and enhance effectiveness and rapid response to medical emergencies, particularly in areas of traffic congestion and narrow streets and passages across all governorates.
