Interior Minister Receives Message from UAE Commending Bahrain’s Security Efforts

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, received Fahad Mohammed Kardous Al Ameri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Major General Abdullah Mohammed Al Zayed, Inspector-General at the Ministry of Interior, was present.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Interior Minister expressed pride in the longstanding historical ties and close relations between the two countries and peoples, and the security, stability, and progress they continue to witness under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The minister highlighted the shared future visions between the two countries in advancing cooperation and integration across various security fields.

The Interior Minister received a written message from Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the UAE. The message commended the distinguished security efforts undertaken by Bahrain's Ministry of Interior, which led to uncovering the main organisation linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the ideology of Wilayat Al Faqih, and the arrest of several individuals involved in the criminal plot.

The message expressed the UAE's solidarity with Bahrain and full support for the measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, and stability. It praised the competence and professionalism of Bahrain's security agencies in confronting terrorist plots. The message further underscored the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two countries, particularly in security-related fields.

The meeting also reviewed areas of security cooperation and a number of topics aimed at further developing joint work between the two countries, in addition to discussing regional developments.
