Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Dr. Mohammad Asif Islam, Advisor to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The meeting focused on Bahrain's commitment to supporting and protecting expatriate workers in accordance with national laws and regulations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister highlighted the Kingdom's continuous efforts to ensure a safe and fair working environment, emphasizing the safeguarding of workers' rights. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah pointed out Bahrain's international achievement in maintaining its Tier 1 status for the eighth consecutive year in the U.S. Department of State's Annual Trafficking in Persons Report. This achievement underscores Bahrain's ongoing dedication to strengthening human rights protection.
The discussions during the meeting also explored areas of cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and Bangladesh, aiming to further support shared goals in sustainable and comprehensive development.
