Interior Minister Meets IISS Council Chair to Discuss Strategic Cooperation

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Lord Mark Sedwill, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and the IISS-Middle East, alongside Air Marshal (Retd) Martin Sampson. The meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Police.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister expressed appreciation for the institute's role through its specialised security studies and its academic contributions in political and strategic research. He highlighted how these efforts contribute to shaping policing policies that positively address evolving security challenges.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah commended the IISS for its initiatives in promoting international peace and organising strategic forums and international conferences. He specifically mentioned the Manama Dialogue, an annual event that serves as an intellectual platform for exchanging views on security and stability issues. The minister emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation to serve shared objectives and interests.

The meeting also explored ways to enhance cooperation and coordination, develop joint work, and exchange expertise between the two sides.
