Interior Minister Inspects Transport Directorate; Affirms Adoption of Advanced Systems to Ensure Efficiency

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, conducted an inspection visit to the Transport Directorate, which is tasked with managing and maintaining the Ministry's vehicles and equipment. The minister was accompanied by the Chief of Public Security, the Interior Ministry Undersecretary, and the Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the visit, General Shaikh Rashid reviewed the directorate's efforts to meet the operational needs of security work, ensuring public safety and the readiness of all ministry departments through the provision of vehicles and technical resources. He directed a restructuring of the directorate's organisational framework to better align with the scale and nature of its responsibilities.

The minister received a briefing on the maintenance operations for vehicles, machinery, and equipment, and was informed of the safety and security measures in place. He commended the capabilities of the newly established maintenance unit, which has significantly increased the repair capacity of the fleet.

The briefing also noted that the Transport Directorate is currently working towards obtaining ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational health and safety management systems. General Shaikh Rashid emphasised the importance of continuing to adopt advanced operational systems and modern technologies to ensure efficiency and speed in delivering security services. He highlighted the need to keep improving performance through modern management methods and optimal resource use.

The minister thanked all personnel of the Transport Directorate for their dedication and service, and wished them continued success in serving the nation.
