Interior Minister hails NPRA’s development initiatives

Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, today visited the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), where he was welcomed by NPRA Undersecretary, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and officials.

The visit is in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to provide modern and integrated services to citizens. It is also part of the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and prime minister, to implement the royal vision.

The Interior Minister asserted the importance of the support of HM the King to achieving remarkable performance development and ensuring excellence in provided services. He valued the 24 initiatives to develop the NPRA services as part of the Economic Recovery Plan launched by the cabinet, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Interior Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to the NPRA Undersecretary, hailing the implementation of the new work strategy through sincere efforts and competency standards to meet the government action plan.

He asserted dedication to providing all support, including training to provide citizens inside and outside Bahrain with the same level of services. He highlighted the significance of monitoring performance and modern technology’s best use.

He highlighted that the employees who deal directly with clients should be selected carefully and provided with training and required tools, adding that they should be periodically evaluated to monitor efficiency for the best interests of citizens and residents.

The Interior Minister was briefed on the most significant accomplishments and the timeline of implementing initiatives. He was also informed about the development goals, statistics of travelers and e-services projects, as well as the strategy and operational plans of the new vision.
