Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Civil Defence Council, today met with Dr. Ahmed Qazziz, the Assistant Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management for the Syrian Arab Republic, along with his accompanying delegation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, the Public Security Chief and Chairman of the National Committee for Civil Emergency Management. During the discussions, Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted the significance of this visit in bolstering cooperation and coordination in crisis and emergency management. He pointed out that this collaboration is a testament to the strong and enduring relations between the two nations.
The Minister stressed that ensuring the security and safety of societies is both a security and humanitarian obligation that necessitates collective effort and the utilization of all security tools. He further emphasized the need for exchanging expertise and adopting a proactive approach to enhance national preparedness and capabilities in emergency response and civil protection, aiming to improve collaboration in mitigating the impacts of crises.
Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah expressed his wishes for a successful visit for the Assistant Minister and his delegation, one that would advance mutual interests. The meeting also reviewed Bahrain's experience in civil emergency management, explored avenues for cooperation and performance enhancement, and addressed topics related to civil protection.
