Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Alastair Long, the outgoing Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police, attended the meeting.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister highlighted the distinguished relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, particularly in policing. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise, noting the United Kingdom's important role, alongside other countries, in supporting the foundations of regional and international security and stability.
The minister expressed his appreciation for the ambassador's efforts and his valuable contribution to further strengthening the strategic partnership and the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting also reviewed bilateral security cooperation programmes and their role in advancing joint efforts in support of the shared interests of the two countries.
