Information Ministry Undersecretary Chairs GCC Meeting Amid Regional Tensions

Manama: Yousif Mohammed Al Binkhalil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, chaired a remote extraordinary meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Information of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The meeting was held as part of the ongoing coordination between member states to follow up on regional developments resulting from the blatant Iranian attacks on the Council countries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting underscores the importance of strengthening joint Gulf action and increasing cooperation between GCC media bodies, particularly given the current regional situation. These circumstances impose requirements that call for enhancing levels of media coordination between member states to contribute to unifying and integrating efforts and developing Gulf media in a way that reflects shared positions and keeps pace with regional and international developments with efficiency and competence.

The meeting also reviewed several topics related to joint Gulf media work, within the framework of supporting the collective efforts of the Council countries in dealing with the repercussions of the current stage and enhancing the integration of roles between media institutions. This aims to improve the efficiency of media performance and serve the supreme interests of the GCC countries and their peoples.
