Industry Ministry Conducts Price Inspection Campaigns Across Bahrain

Manama: Following reports about rising prices of certain goods, the Inspection Directorate at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce carried out field inspection campaigns targeting a number of retail shops and sales outlets to verify price levels, ensure the availability of goods, monitor any violations or unjustified price increases, and assess compliance with laws and regulations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the campaign included visits to 102 retail outlets across the Kingdom of Bahrain, covering Manama, Al Hidd, Diyar Al Muharraq, East Riffa, and Isa Town. During the inspections, a shop was found to have increased the prices of flashlights without justification, leading to its administrative closure and the initiation of necessary legal measures.

The Ministry also encouraged consumers to promptly report any observations or complaints regarding price increases under the current circumstances. Reports can be submitted by contacting the Ministry's call center at 80001700, through the "Tawasul" system, via email to the Inspection Directorate at [email protected], or through any other available communication channels provided by the Ministry.
