Manama: Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, conducted a field inspection visit to the WestPoint Home Bahrain textile manufacturing facility in Askar Industrial Zone. The visit is part of the ministry's efforts to oversee developments in the industrial sector and assess current needs and future plans. According to Bahrain News Agency, Fakhro highlighted the industry sector strategy for 2022-2026, which focuses on increasing the sector's contribution to GDP, boosting exports of locally manufactured products, and creating promising employment opportunities for Bahraini citizens in the industrial sector. The strategy emphasizes supporting the sector's shift towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, implementing circular carbon economy principles, promoting environmental and social governance, and encouraging investment in technological infrastructure, digital manufacturing, and the efficiency of supply chains through Gulf industrial integration. During the visit, the minister inspected t he facility's operations and received a detailed briefing on its production processes and services. He underscored the support for all industrial activities, particularly high-value projects with a strong impact on the national economy, reinforcing the ministry's commitment to fostering the growth of the industrial sector in Bahrain.
