Industry Minister Chairs 25th SME Development Council Meeting

Manama: Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, chaired the 25th meeting of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Development Council. The council began by extending its appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his continued support of Bahrain's industrial and commercial sectors, praising the inspirational vision outlined in His Majesty's recent speech. Members said the address reflected the King's confidence in the private sector and his encouragement of national efforts to enhance productivity and economic growth. According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Fakhro highlighted the vital role of small and medium enterprises in supporting Bahrain's sustainable development and expressed appreciation for the constructive cooperation among council members in advancing initiatives that strengthen entrepreneurship. The meeting reviewed a number of strategic plans and projects, including a proposal to restructure the council's future initiatives to improve implementation ef ficiency and create more opportunities for entrepreneurs in line with market needs. The council also discussed updates on the National Growth Fund for SMEs, which provides Sharia-compliant financial solutions to help small and medium enterprises expand and thrive.
