“I’m Talented” Athletes Engage in FIBA Clinic at Khalifa Sports City

Manama: Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Board Member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairperson of the Committee on Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance in Sports, attended the "FIBA Foundation Clinic" held as part of the social programme accompanying the FIBA Congress 2025 and the Hall of Fame Ceremony, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event took place at Khalifa Sports City Arena, featuring participation from international basketball legends, with German star Dirk Nowitzki leading the activities.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Nowitzki, a renowned NBA icon and Dallas Mavericks legend, directly engaged with the participating children, encouraging them throughout the activities. The clinic involved talented male and female athletes from the "I'm Talented" programme, as well as children and youth, all under the supervision of certified FIBA coaches.

Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid expressed her support for such initiatives, highlighting their role in empowering youth and enhancing their opportunities in sports. She also praised the event's organisation and the broad participation it attracted, which underscores Bahrain's dedication to community sports and advancing gender equality across all fields.
