iGA Launches Registration for Third Batch of Technical Development Programme

Manama: The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, has announced the opening of registration for the third batch of the Technical Development Programme (TTDP). This initiative is designed to provide Bahraini university graduates with IT-related specializations the opportunity for on-job training, aimed at equipping them with the skills necessary to enter both public and private sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, registration for the programme will remain open until May 30, accessible through iGA's corporate website. The programme will select 80 participants for training over the span of one year. This initiative is integral to Bahrain's strategy to bolster digital transformation and enhance its standing as a regional leader in ICT, aligning with the nation's Economic Vision 2030.

The third edition of TTDP underscores a sustained commitment to nurturing national talent, particularly in technical fields, and preparing Bahraini youth to become preferred candidates for employment. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, iGA's Chief Executive, highlighted that this batch is pivotal to the iGA's efforts in driving digital transformation and adapting to technological advancements.

Participants will engage in on-job training within iGA's various technical directorates, directly involving themselves in tasks aligned with their specializations. Al Qaed emphasized that the programme is instrumental in developing Bahraini skills and preparing them for future leadership roles, reflecting the authority's dedication to fostering competencies in advanced digital and technical fields.

The TTDP not only supports the Bahraini labour market by supplying skilled technical professionals but also strengthens Bahrain's position as a technology hub. Al Qaed noted the successes of previous batches, with the first batch training 80 participants and achieving 146 professional certifications, leading to a 79% employment rate for graduates.

The ongoing second batch has already seen 29 participants enrolled, with 16 securing employment before completing the programme. These outcomes demonstrate the programme's efficacy in equipping participants with sought-after skills and facilitating job opportunities.

For eligibility, applicants for the third batch must be Bahraini citizens aged 21 to 30, holding a bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, and must be registered as job seekers with the Ministry of Labour.
