Manama: Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), chaired the second meeting of the Equal Opportunities Committee for 2025. The meeting focused on promoting equality and women's empowerment within an inclusive work environment, showcasing iGA's ongoing efforts to ensure fairness and efficiency for all employees.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting assessed the needs of employees to ensure the requirements of all groups are met. Discussions centered on governance mechanisms related to equal opportunities, aligning with Civil Service Bureau (CSB) directives, and examining measures adopted by the iGA to guarantee merit-based promotions and appointments. The iGA services that ensure equal opportunities for all employees were also highlighted.
The agenda included a presentation on the findings from a recent job satisfaction index prepared by the Human and Financial Resources Directorate. Additionally, a mechanism for receiving proposals aimed at enhancing equal opportunities was introduced, alongside the preparation of an official circular detailing the iGA's procedures on gender equality.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of iGA's commitment to fostering a fair and inclusive work environment, reinforcing the principles of equal opportunities. The contributions of committee members in empowering employees and supporting Bahraini women in the workplace were acknowledged, further promoting professional and social stability.
