The head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, President of the Arab Journalists Federation, Muayyad Al-Lami, received congratulations from Dr. Ibrahim Bahr Al-Ulum on the occasion of the National Day of the Iraqi Press.

Bahr Al-Ulum said in his congratulations: ‘Brother, Muayyad Al-Lami, head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, I extend to you, on the occasion of the 155th anniversary of the Iraqi press, my warmest congratulations and blessings to you and all the brothers working in the Iraqi press. The Fourth Power has achieved important achievements in the process of building the state and confronting the challenges it has faced. In this national march, there were a significant number of martyrs and wounded, and it faced, with high professionalism and patriotic firmness, the yellow media and sick misinformation.

He added: ‘This temporal accumulation of this cultural landmark reflects the extent of awareness, civilization, and broad horizons of a nation that has succeeded in highlighting its capabilities in
recording memory, and that journalism has become the best witness to that. This journalistic scene in Iraq will remain a tributary to the state-building process and replete with intellectual possibilities to raise awareness and culture despite all the problems, obstacles, technological progress, and the expansion of social communication mechanisms, from this standpoint, it becomes necessary for the state to support this facility in a way that makes it always vibrant in the movement of society, and effective in directing the compass towards protecting the homeland and the citizen.

He continued: ‘Every year, the Iraqi press exudes more brilliance and creativity.’
