Riyadh: Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co. (E and C), South Korea's leading construction firm, announced on Monday that it has secured transmission line contracts worth $389 million in Saudi Arabia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Hyundai E and C has received two separate orders from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to install 380-kilovolt transmission lines in the cities of Medina and Jeddah. The projects, which are scheduled for completion by November 2027, aim to enhance the region's electricity infrastructure.
The construction involves a total of 491 kilometers of transmission lines that will transport electricity generated from solar power plants located in the western part of Saudi Arabia to substations in Medina and Jeddah. This development is a significant step towards expanding the country's renewable energy capabilities and improving power distribution networks.
